Quicken supports both the Alaska and T. Rowe Price (National) 529 College Savings plan accounts in a limited fashion. For Windows users, if you are using a version of Quicken that was released in 2004 or earlier, you should be able to successfully import the file that you download, as this Web site supports the QIF file format. If you are using a 2005 or later version of Quicken, you will not be able to import the file that you download, because this Web site does not support the OFX file format. For Macintosh users, if you are using a version of Quicken that was released in 2005 or earlier, you should be able to successfully import the file that you download, because this Web site supports the QIF file format. If you are using a 2006 or later version of Quicken, you will not be able to import the file that you download, because this Web site does not support the OFX file format.
The Maryland College Investment Plan is not compatible with any Quicken application.

The customer ID and PIN number/password required is the same user name and password you use to login to T. Rowe Price's Account Access section. If you need to set up a user name and password for the first time, please visit the Account Access section. Note: In Quicken 2007, the PIN number is referred to as a password.
- Click on 'File' on the top menu bar, and select 'New' from the drop-down box.
- At this point you are given the option to choose 'New Quicken Account' or 'New Quicken File.'
New Account: If you are setting up a T. Rowe Price account in Quicken for the first time, select 'New Quicken Account,' and click 'Ok'.
Existing Account: On the first screen after opening Quicken, right-click on the account you wish to work with and choose 'Edit Account.' On the screen that appears next, click on the Online Services tab. To the right of the words 'Transaction download is available' click on the 'Activate' button. Please proceed to step 4 to continue. - On the next screen, you will choose the financial institution your account is held with. When setting up mutual fund or IRA accounts, select the radio button that states: 'This account is held at the following institution.' In the field below, type the letter 't' and then select 'T. Rowe Price' from the drop-down menu below and click 'Next.'
When setting up Brokerage accounts, select the 'T. Rowe Price Brokerage' option and click 'Next.'
Note: Quicken 2009 will present a screen to select an account type before asking which financial institution the account is held at. Select Investing/Retirement and then IRA or Keogh plan for T. Rowe Price Mutual Fund and IRA accounts and Standard Brokerage for T. Rowe Price Brokerage accounts.
Note: The 'T. Rowe Price Retirement Plans' option is for Workplace Retirement accounts only. Selecting this option for individual accounts will cause the account download to fail. - Quicken 2006: Select the 'Online' option at the next screen titled: 'How do you want to set up your T. Rowe Price Account(s)?' Click 'Next.'
Quicken 2007, 2008, and 2009: Select the 'Yes, I want to connect to T. Rowe Price through Quicken' option at the next screen titled: 'How do you want to set up your T. Rowe Price Account(s)?' Click 'Next.' - On the next screen titled 'Log in to set up your T. Rowe Price account(s) (or T. Rowe Price Brokerage account(s)) in Quicken' please enter the user name that you use on the
T. Rowe Price Web site in the 'Customer ID' text box and the password that you use on the T. Rowe Price Web site in the text box marked 'PIN/Password' and then click 'Next.' - For mutual fund or IRA accounts:
A new window will appear and display the relevant mutual fund or IRA account number(s) in a column. Place a check mark next to the account numbers to be added. Add a name for each account to the right of each account number. Click 'Next' to continue.
For Brokerage accounts:
A new window will appear and display the relevant Brokerage account number(s) from a drop-down list. Select an account and click 'Next.' If Quicken detects additional Brokerage accounts, they may be added and named on the next screen. Click 'Next.' - After reviewing the summary information on the next screen click 'Done.'
- Quicken will then download the account information.
- Quicken 2007: At the screen titled 'Congratulations! Quicken successfully downloaded your holdings and available historical transactions,' select the 'Go to Account' button. A 'Comparing Transactions' window will appear and the transactions will be added to the account summary. If no transactions are available click 'Done.'
Quicken 2007, 2008, and 2009: At the screen titled 'One-Step Update Summary' click 'Close.'
Note: If you have already established T. Rowe Price Account Access on the Web, all of your T. Rowe Price accounts should be activated and enabled for Quicken Online Investment Tracking.
- From within Quicken, click on 'Online' from the top menu bar and select 'Online Center.'
- Once in the Online Center, select 'T. Rowe Price' (for mutual fund or IRA accounts) or 'T. Rowe Price Brokerage' (for Brokerage accounts) from the financial institution drop-down menu in the top left corner of the screen.
- Click 'Update/Send' in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
- Quicken 2006: Within the 'Online Update for this Account' window, select the account or accounts to be updated. Enter in the PIN number and click the 'Update Now' button in the lower right-hand corner of the window.
Quicken 2007, 2008, and 2009: Within the 'One-Step Update Settings' window, select the account or accounts to be updated. Enter in the password and click the 'Update Now' button in the lower right-hand corner of the window.
Note: You cannot change your PIN/password or establish your PIN/password for T. Rowe Price Account Access within the Quicken for Windows software. To change or establish your PIN/password, log in to your account and choose 'Online Servicing' from the 'Accounts and Online Servicing' menu. You will have the ability to update your password in the 'Personal Profile' section. Return to Quicken to proceed with your account information download. - At this point, you will see the 'Quicken One-Step Update Status' screen. This screen will continue to provide information on the download process until it is complete.
- Quicken 2006: Once the download process is complete, a summary of how many transactions were received for the selected accounts will appear in the 'Online Update Summary' screen.
Quicken 2007, 2008, and 2009: Once the download process is complete, a summary of how many transactions were received for the selected accounts will appear in the 'One-Step Update Summary' screen. - Quicken 2007: Click the 'Go to Portfolio' button to import your transactions into Quicken. If new transactions are not available, click 'Done.'
Quicken 2007, 2008, and 2009: Click the 'Close' button. - On the following screen, if new transactions have downloaded, you will have the option to accept the transactions into Quicken in the lower section of the window. This completes the steps for downloading T. Rowe Price account information into Quicken for Windows.
- Click 'File' on the top menu bar, and select 'New Account.'
- On the next screen, select 'T. Rowe Price Brokerage' in the box titled, 'This account is held at the following institution' and click 'Continue.'
- On the next screen, select 'Online: Let Quicken set up my accounts and download information (Recommended)' for the account setup type.
- You will then be prompted to enter your Customer ID and Password. The Customer ID and Password used in Quicken are the same as your user name and password for the T. Rowe Price Web site. Click 'Continue.'
- Quicken will attempt to contact T. Rowe Price at this point. If the connection is successful, you will be prompted with a list of your existing Brokerage accounts. In the left-hand column, you can deselect the box for any accounts that are not currently active. In the right-hand column, you will need to click on 'Select an account' and choose an existing Brokerage account in Quicken to match your T. Rowe Price account to. If you are setting up a new account in Quicken, click on 'Select an account' and choose 'Enter another name' and enter a name for the account. After selecting and/or naming all accounts, click 'Continue.'
- If the New Account Assistant window appears click the 'Continue' button.
- If you have set up a new account in Quicken you will need to enter your current holdings and click 'Continue.' Otherwise, you'll receive a confirmation that Quicken has set up the selected
T. Rowe Price accounts for Online Services. Click 'OK.'
- Select 'Online' from the toolbar within Quicken and select 'Download Transactions.'
- A 'Download Transactions' screen will display. Select the 'Download' button on the right. You will then be prompted to enter your Password which is the same as the password for the T. Rowe Price Web site.
- A 'Connection Status' screen will appear as Quicken connects to T. Rowe Price.
- Any new transactions will be downloaded. Select each transaction individually and click 'Accept' or to accept all of the downloaded transactions, click 'Accept All.'
