How do I open an account?

You can access a variety of accounts offered by T. Rowe Price. Once on the Open a New Account page, please select the appropriate account and follow the listed instructions.

Why can't I see the transaction I placed online?

Transactions are posted overnight, and the exact time of completion varies, but you generally should be able to view exchange information the next business day. Because this is a two-step procedure (a redemption and a purchase), the actual purchase may appear in the Account Access section later than your redemption, and if you do more than one exchange on the same day, your exchanges may not be available for viewing at the same time. Finally, when you enter transaction instructions via Account Access, you may check the Pending Activity area of your Account Access to review the status of the transaction. Once the transaction is completed, the information will be removed from the Pending Activity area.

When sending an international wire, the wire must first be sent through a U.S. correspondent bank. Each foreign bank has a corresponding U.S. bank that they process wires through.

What type of mutual fund transactions can I perform online?

You can buy additional shares of a mutual fund you already own or establish a new mutual fund under one of your existing account registrations. To buy a mutual fund online, there must be a bank account linked to your mutual fund account(s).

Exchange

You can move money from one mutual fund account to another. The exchange can be to an identically registered mutual fund you already own or you can move money into a new fund. The new fund will have the same registration and properties as the mutual fund(s) used to fund the exchange. (Note: Systematic transaction features will not automatically be carried over to the new account.)

When performing exchanges, you have the option of exchanging from one fund to another fund, from one fund to many funds, or from many funds to one fund. The options are located at the beginning of the exchange process near the top of the transaction screen.

Please note that exchanges involving nonretirement accounts (including nonretirement accounts to retirement accounts) are considered taxable events.

Some funds charge redemption fees. Please see the prospectus for more information.

Sell

You can take money out of your mutual fund account and have the proceeds sent by check via first-class mail to your address of record, or, if you have a bank account linked to your mutual fund account(s), you can move the money by an Automated Clearing House (ACH) or wire transfer (fees may apply if redeeming by wire).

Some funds charge redemption fees. Please see the prospectus for more information.

How do I cancel a transaction I just placed?

Transactions (purchases, exchanges, and redemptions) placed online can be cancelled by accessing Pending Activity from the Activity tab within the Accounts & Activity area. Transactions may be cancelled until the market close (usually 4 p.m. ET) on their trade date. Once the market has closed on the trade date, the transaction can no longer be cancelled.

All pending transactions placed through the Online Account Access system will be displayed as pending activity until the transactions are reflected in your Transaction History, usually the next trade date.

For further assistance, please contact a T. Rowe Price Shareholder Services representative at 1-800-225-5132.

How do I track the status of a  transaction?

Mutual fund transactions (purchases, redemptions, and exchanges) placed online are viewable in Pending Activity from the Activity tab within the Accounts & Activity area immediately after the transaction is submitted. Please note that accounts established via the Mutual Fund Account Setup application and systematic transactions do not display in pending activity.

After the market close (usually 4 p.m. ET) on the trade date specified, the transaction can no longer be cancelled but is still displayed in Pending Activity until our systems are updated the following morning. After this update, transactions are viewable within the Transaction History from the Activity tab within the Accounts & Activity.

Transaction History contains a record of all the financial activity in your T. Rowe Price mutual fund and Brokerage account(s), as of the previous business day, including automatic investments and withdrawals and dividend and capital gain payments.

How do I enter a Brokerage trade online?

There are a number of ways to initiate an online Brokerage trade. After you login to your accounts, you will be initially directed to the Accounts & Activity Summary page. From this page you may use the Actions drop-down adjacent to the account to select a trading option, (Stock, Mutual Fund or Option). Alternatively, after login you may also select Transact & Trade in the top navigation bar to begin the process of entering a brokerage trade. If you have multiple brokerage accounts, you will be prompted to select the appropriate account from the drop-down menu before proceeding to the Stock, Mutual Fund or Option Order entry pages.

For detailed instructions, including tutorials and definitions of terms, refer to Help, available via the icon at the top right center of each Brokerage page.
